By using dataplate.art you agree to what follows. It is written to be read rather than to be survived.

WHAT YOU ARE BUYING

A piece of artwork of your car, with your car's factory record printed beneath it. Depending on the option you choose, that is a digital file, a framed print, or a print on an aluminium panel.

HOW THE ARTWORK IS MADE

Plainly: your photos are rendered into artwork by a generative AI image model, and then a second, independent AI model compares the result against those same photos and rejects it if the car does not match. Wrong wheels, wrong roof, wrong stance. You never see a render that failed the check, and neither does the printer. It is checked again at full resolution before anything is printed.

The As Delivered edition works differently, and we say so wherever it is offered. It is drawn from the decoded factory specification rather than from photographs of your car, and it is checked against that specification. It shows the car the record describes, not the car as it sits today.

WHAT THE RECORD IS

The record is factory data decoded from your VIN. It is historical. It describes the car as it left the factory and it is not a description of the car's condition, specification or value today. If your car has been repainted, modified or rebuilt, the artwork shows the car you own and the record still shows what left the plant. That is deliberate.

THE COLOUR SWATCH

Where we print a paint code, a colour name and a colour chip, that chip is a colour reference and not a paint match. We do not mix, spray, coat or match paint, and no printed colour should be relied on to match a car, a panel or a supplier's formula.

PRODUCTION NUMBERS

Production figures come from curated sources: published manufacturer tables and community registries, cited where we hold them. We print a figure only when we hold it at the confidence level our own system requires, and we print the number built rather than the number announced, which sometimes differs from what an owner expects. We do not warrant any figure as exact, and where we hold no figure we print none rather than estimate.

YOUR PHOTOS AND YOUR RIGHTS IN THEM

TRADE MARKS

Vehicle makes, models and marks belong to their manufacturers. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any vehicle manufacturer. We name them only to say which car a record describes.

WHAT WE DO NOT PROMISE

IF SOMETHING IS WRONG

Tell us before it goes to print and we fix it, as many times as it takes. After that, see the refunds page. For anything at all, write to hello@dataplate.art.
